Making a bronze is a complicated and difficult process involving several stages, and is a collaboration with some wonderful craftsmen and women, drawing on an ancient tradition.

Between Times exhibition film

Over the last 37 years I have been commissioned to sculpt a variety of subjects from racing camels in Dubai to a racing priest in Ireland. There have been famous racehorses and interesting people over the years, all my subjects fascinating, and many challenging.
This exhibition represents the bronzes made in the between times. Travels in Argentina have been an inspiration, and I am fascinated by all animals but, born and bred in Ireland, horses are naturally part of my DNA. Movement is what I capture and bronze is my medium. There is no back story or weighty social comment, these are some of the moments that have become ‘impressions’ for me.
